Much more than a museum, the Maison de l’Outil bears witness to human intelligence and mastery in creating the tools needed to perform a specific task. A question of ingenuity, craft and art. MOPO, located a few minutes from our ACE Hotel Troyes, has 12,000 handcrafting tools on display from the XVII, XVII and XIX century, which reveal the close bond between craftsmen carrying out a profession, and the raw material. The Maison de l’Outil et de la Pensée Ouvrière is housed in one of Troyes’ most beautiful buildings, the Hotel Mauroy. A cultural treasure built circa 1400, rebuilt in 1550 and listed a Historic Monument in 1862, the Hotel Mauroy was restored in 1953 by the Compagnons du Devoir du Tour de France. Not to be missed.
